Kumbakonam and its Hamlet Dharasuram are also famous for the manufacture and sales of Brasswares, Stainless Steel articles and Lead Utensils with its  traditional Trade both locally as well as to abroad. Nachiyarkoil which is situated just 10 Kms, from Kumbakonam is also very famous for the production of Brass  “Kuthuvilakku, Kamatchi Vilakku” and other Pooja articles. They are also exported to other countries.

Besides the production of other articles such as Brass wares and stainless steel works, the production of “Lead Utensils” is a very special item of traditional trade which cannot found anywhere also in Tamilnadu on the production of Lead Utensils is also required more skill.
